Our Coral Gables dental office is pleased to offer state-of-the-art technology to our patients. Here at Raymond D Kimsey DMD we are equipped with the most advanced technology in the industry today. A new and wonderful era in dentistry has begun, lasers. Lasers are an amazing asset for any dental office.
Some of the many benefits of lasers include:
Perform gum surgery or fill teeth without the need for needles which means no bleeding or stitches.
The ability to eat, drink and talk right after surgery with no discomfort.
Remove decay from small fillings and replace them with the natural color of your tooth.
Perform dentistry without the need for a drill.
Sterilize your restoration and gum tissue as it is healing.
Digital x-rays allow the doctor to get a much better view of your teeth and potential dental conditions. Digital x-rays provide a great benefit to the patient. Not only are they an excellent diagnostic tool, but they decrease radiation to the patient over 80 percent!
Conventional impressions are now a thing of the past with the help of the iTero digital impression system. The system also allows Dr. Kimsey to scan the teeth with a specialized camera. Impressions are now quick and comfortable.
There are basically two types of handpieces, air-driven and electric. Electric handpieces are much stronger than air-driven due to the fact that a motor is spinning the bur as opposed to air. This allows the doctor to remove decay at a faster pace. This will cut down on the time it takes to complete a procedure.
iTero allows Dr. Kimsey to offer his patients a technology driven impression procedure that is far superior to conventional methods. Designed to replace the “dreaded goop”, unpleasant taste, drooling and gagging associated with taking traditional impressions. By using a hand-held wand to optically scan the area to be restored, the patients’ entire impression is created 100 percent digitally with no mess and no bad taste. This translates into a more comfortable impression process and restorations that look and feel like natural teeth.
The intraoral camera is an amazing diagnostic tool for viewing different angles in the mouth. The camera gives us the ability to view the entire mouth on a monitor so that we can get a closer look at any potential issues or problems that may arise.
Rotary Endodontics is a way to perform a root canal utilizing a specific electrical handpiece. This tool often makes the process faster and allows the dentist to perform the process with greater ease.
Replace lost bone with Osiris stem cell technology. No longer are you required to have a second surgery to harvest bone. Today Dr. Kimsey is able to rebuild bone with stem cells that produce bone.
